Cue Cards 📝

Background: Sometimes, you want to be able to build on a note, or refine upon a thought that you had while on the move. Sometimes you want to rethink something you have captured. You might alsowant to leave a prompt on screen, for what you want to focus some thinking time to. We had a lot of requests to go deeper on this one, so now we are proud to present cue cards on MacOS. Feature Description: This allow users to review previous thoughts, while recording a new note. Users may open a cue card, a non-editable note opens up in a second screen. This will stay open when you press command + N to start recording a new note. Benefits/Rationale: We have had LOTS of feedback about building upon thoughts. Longer term, we want to let you add to your notes with your voice. We found a short-term fix that has turned into it's owne useful feature! Aligned with our long-term vision, we shipped this to help you build on top of your existing thoughts. What this means: Along the way, we added in the ability to pull up a previous note summary up in a second screen. This was then named by Junior (a user, kudos to you!) to "cue cards" and is now it's very own feature. How-to: Available only on Mac, you may right-click anywhere on your open note and it will open up a new note. Additionally, you may right-click on notes in the side-bar to open further previous notes. This is very handy when thinking through a few things, or collating the end of your day). Workflows/Inspiration: 1: When you are reviewing an older note, or thinking further on your previous note. 2: When you want to leave a prompt on screen to remind yourself what you are supposed to be thinking of (especially for those of us who might think in different directions!). 3: When you you want to review or revisit some previous thoughts, while you're thinking out loud. 4: When you are reviewing or planning your day. ... (as many scenarios as you folks can feed back into us:) ) Mockups/Screenshots: Impact: This unlocks the first-tier of adding to thoughts. This allows users to revisit, resurface and re-use your own thoughts. You may build something new and original, using your voice. It also unlocks the ability for you to prompt yourself, to keep on point with what you want to think through. This is particularly useful for those of us with awesome brains that work in their own fantastic way. Cleft acts an on-screen reminder of the point(s) you want to cover right now, to help you get back/keep on track. Extra Credit Insights In the future, we will add a keyboard shortcut to let you add this to your workflow, and adding to existing thoughts using your voice. You may complete a similar workflow from your iPad or Vision Pro, but not right now on your iPhone. This is due to the screen size available, and the use cases you folks have been feeding into us. We are very open to feedback on this in the future. Please let us know in the comments or with a new post, improvement you might like to see.
