Double tap for tagging...

I'm not trying to kill a zombie, so the "double-tap" on MacOS for tagging seems excessive. Right now, when I tag a note I start typing in the little tag field and it usually matches an existing tag. My tags are all very short, so usually I end up just typing the entire tage. Then I hit return, which should affirmatively apply that tag. But...it doesn't...it just populates the little tag field with the text that was already in there (because I had typed the entire tag). This makes me think I've applied the tag...but the UI doesn't update in a way that confirms this. Because, actually, I have to "double-tap" and hit return again to actually apply the tag. Tagging should be super fast...this feels clumsy.
